A few months into this little venture of mine, I have conclude a few things with regards to Business Logo Design. Turns out, as I had hoped there is a large market for this service. While small business owners live and breathe their product or service, they often have an unclear vision of what the stamp on that product should look like. A partnership with a designer allows you to have input on the end result while having an unbiased creative set of eyes fill in the blanks!

Your company logo is your company’s face to the world. It’s one of the first things someone will see when they visit your website or look at your product packaging. A unique logo is one of the main ways people will remember your company. It should give those who see it a feeling for what your company does just by looking at it. It should give people a sense of trust to buy from your company.
[divider]If your company is a start-up, after deciding on a name and a business plan, one of the next things you should consider is having a logo designed by a professional graphic designer. (Insert plug here… Business by Desine for example). After spending ample time looking at local businesses and online stores, I often find myself wondering how they stay in business. Pretty safe to say that if I felt un-comfortable ordering products from websites that used a poorly designed default store template with a logo that was created with a simple font typed in Microsoft Word, then thousands of other people would be nervous, too. This has given me a surge of energy knowing that my little one man show could help these companies do better, increase site visitors, and increase revenue.
[divider]You don’t need to be a big company and spend a ton of money to have a great logo. Packages start from just $90. So it’s probably about time to send that Microsoft Word cut’n’paste jobby to the trash. It doesn’t have to be over-designed or full of graphic. A lot can be accomplished with a great font and a few tweaks.
Take a look at your current logo. Ask yourself what it says about your company. Does it look professional? Is it memorable? Is it appropriate for your type of business? If you are unsure about any of these, a redesign might be something to think about. Money spent now on a well conceived, impeccably designed logo will show a return for years and years to come.
